Does anyone have time to answer a question?
Here are two prospective cover illustrations for the Animal Farm project. They’re both optimised to be viewed at a distance of three feet as is industry standard, but they are unfinished at this point, requiring cover copy (book name and author’s details.)
I was wondering which you preferred? It doesn’t matter if you’re not an illustrator. Everyone buys books. I’d love your opinion. I’ll spend some time working it up in to a finished binding and submit it later tonight, based on what every one thinks. Critique of course, is warmly welcomed.
The left hand image is harder to read - The lines represent a butcher’s guide for cuts of meat. The right hand image represents one of the books rebellious hens, caged in battery style. So, what say you? View high resolution

    2. teaandink said: Definitely left. It’s more striking, and the counterspace is more pleasing to the eye
    3. dischordgeneration said: the left one, definitely, the dotted lines give the body more dynamic, where the right picture has just 1 dimension. nice work!
    4. sillysloth said: love the left
    5. disqualified said: i prefer the left although they’re both fantastic.
    6. sugarbombs said: These are both amazing. I think if pressed, the left one is my favourite. Really striking!
    7. seeetooor said: i would go for the left one. i actually feel the message is clearer and easier to read! i think theyre beautiful images. and your colour pallet is so strong! excellent stuff as always :) x

my personal favourite...Animal Farm.. It fits the story better
    9. poorlydrawnthings said: Hard choice, but left seems like it would work better with copy added.
